One of the common causes of pinched nerves in the low back and neck is disc degeneration. Disc degeneration is caused by wear and tear over the years with the disc getting thinner which narrows the vertebral spaces. This can cause the nerves to become pinched and irritated. This may then be followed with tingling and numbness in the shoulders and neck. Tension, stress, whiplash and other injuries can all contribute over time.

Sacroiliac joint pain may or may not actually be emanating from the joint itself. It could be simply situated in this region (buttock), ot it could be referred pain down the leg. It could be confused with myofascial type pain in the piriformis, gluteal muscles, or paraspinal muscles. Other patient disease processes that may mimic sacroiliac joint pain may include potentially painful or arthritic facet joints, tears in the outer part (annulus) of the intervertebral disk, all of which may radiate pain into the buttock area.

For people that have some kind of mobility or musculoskeletal condition, orthopedic beds are high in demand. Regular mattresses good if you do not have any such health issues, but for those that do, a regular mattress may not provide the level of comfort and support required. In fact it may aggravate and cause pain to any sensitive areas.

Knee arthritis affects millions annually, and you know why it’s a shame? It persists just like the in-laws who will not leave! it is typically a normal part of aging from simple wear and tear osteoarthritis which accumulates over a number of years and then begins to irritate a person like a pebble in a person’s shoe.

As one ages, arthritis is a frequent unwelcome “friend” and weight bearing joints often experience substantial pain. Two of these joints are the sacroiliac joints which are on both sides of the lower back. They see much less movement than ball and socket joints like the hip, but definitely enough to cause daily pain for people. Radiofrequency ablation (neurotomy) may help affected patients for a long time period with their SI joint pain as an excellent nonsurgical therapy.
